Holistic Therapy for Stress Eating and Emotional Balance
Are you struggling with stress eating?
Do you turn to food for comfort when feeling overwhelmed, sad, or worried?
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Registered Nurse, have a unique expertise in health and wellness. I offer holistic counselling therapy where we can explore the root causes of your stress eating. We will also look at how to deal with difficult emotions in a way that promotes greater joy, gratitude and peace.
I take a compassionate and integrative approach to stress eating. I believe that therapy should go beyond just talking about the issue. Through a holistic approach, I also aim to help women re-connect with positive emotional states. To do this, I integrate modalities such as grounding practices, visualization, art-based images, visual journaling, and symbolism into my counselling practice so that you can begin feel new shifts in our sessions together.
- A deeper understanding of your emotional triggers
- Self-care practices for managing stress and emotions
- A healthier relationship with food and yourself

Kirstin McKinnon, Registered Clinical Counsellor & Registered Nurse – Stress Eating
My Approach: Nourishing Body and Mind
In our work together, we’ll explore the emotional, mental, and physical aspects of your relationship with food. I’ll draw on my nursing expertise and counselling skills to help you better understand your experiences and develop coping strategies that work for you. We’ll focus on building self-awareness, self-compassion, and emotional balance. I’ll support you in discovering what nourishes your body and soul.
I support women in addressing their relationship with food and their habits through a combination of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Mindfulness. These modalities help us explore the emotional, physical, and reactive aspects of eating.
